Breaking News! Organ has been awarded an Historic Organ Certificate

Earlier today we were informed that the British Institute of Organ Studies (BIOS) has awarded the Organ at St John’s an Historic Organ Certificate at grade II* level.

There are different grades available but grade II* is awarded for Organs that are particularly important and are of more than special interest.

We also have a certificate from BIOS to hang near the Organ.  Quoting from the certificate:

“It is therefore listed in the Institute’s Register of Historic Pipe Organs as being an instrument of importance to the national heritage and one deserving careful preservation for the benefit of future generations.”

This is truly amazing news for the Organ Appeal team.

Thank you once again BIOS!

  1. Congratulations. I remember being with you to worship in May 2012 and recall being impressed by the power of the organ at that time.
I wish you well in raising the necessary funds for a total rebuild.

    • Hello Mr Morris

Thank you for your kind message. 2014 has certainly been a busy year. Fingers crossed when the air reservoir returns the organ will sound better than it did in 2012.

      Thank you again
